Leadership Works Through Imperfect People

I was recently talking to a leader friend of mine, and we were discussing how team members sometimes are not able to perform to the level we need. Then we both agreed that leadership is about accomplishing the mission through imperfect people.

Our people are imperfect. We are imperfect. Yet, dedicated leaders forge forward and accomplish great feats regardless.

This realization, if we truly believe it, will not only save us from a boat load of frustration, but it will lead us to persevere, be patient with ourselves and others, and stay positive during the most pressing times of leadership.

Acknowledging that people are imperfect does not mean we allow issues and problems to go unaddressed. It does not mean we neglect to grow ourselves, grow others, and strive for unity.

Effective leadership—and followership—works through imperfect people.

How can I support you more as a Christian leader and entrepreneur?
