A few weeks ago, I had lunch with a notable leader. We had a wonderful exchange of ideas. I took a few things from that meeting. One thing he said was, “I will not sleep until I finish all my emails.” As is my habit, I take notes when an idea intrigues me. I wrote down in my iPhone notes, “What will I not sleep until I do?”
For me, I am not sure that finishing emails is in that same category. With my leadership roles, I am not needed to check my emails as rigorously. However, there are things that I like to do daily. Having just come back from a couple of months of international travel, vacation, work, and missions, my routines were a bit interrupted. While I am grateful for the time away, I am happy to be back in Texas partly to get my routines back in order.
While traveling I had my office redone (I will give you a tour of my office by video soon), but coming back, I have a renewed commitment to read. Over the years, I have used different disciplines of staying on track. These days, I am following how many pages per day. I like to read 24 pages per day. I have been applying this new technique I learned from my leader friend: I will not sleep until I finish my 24 pages.
If you were to choose one area, what would it be for you in this season? What will you not sleep until you do?
How can I support you more as a Christian leader and entrepreneur?
