As a Christian leader, I call on you to reject the anti-God world of today. Why are we so against God if most of the world believes in a higher power? Check out this statistic from Wikipedia: “According to sociologists Ariela Keysar and Juhem Navarro-Rivera’s review of numerous global studies on atheism, there are 450 to 500 million positive atheists and agnostics worldwide (7% of the world’s population) with China alone accounting for 200 million of that demographic.” Other statistics I’ve seen put the atheist population at about 5%. The rest of us believe in a higher power, or at least do not shun the idea.
Tell me why, at least in many Western countries, talking about God has become taboo, anti-science, anti-intellectual, or even a laughable matter?
I reject this line of thinking. This is a scourge of our society, and we are reaping its impact in our families and the integrity of our society as a whole. Why are we surrendering, as it seems? Can we have a turn-around, a revival, a Third Awakening? Yes, but only if Christian leaders commit their lives to the Lord, to pray and seek His leading.
Life without God is meaningless. That’s not the life I choose to live or the worldview I choose to adopt. No, I choose to carry the banner of Jesus Christ, and I am proud of it. I do not bash people over the head with it, but neither am I trembling in the corner, afraid of being laughed at.
We really need more voices in society, more forces, to stop this tsunami of anti-Godism. Where will those come from? You and I.
You are a leader. Start with your circle. No, no, start with yourself. How is your walk? Get strong in the Lord. Get serious about it. Then bring it to your circle of influence (not just at church, but to work as well), and carry the banner of Christ with boldness.
